Must read

Carl Lewis is one of the most decorated athletes of all time, having won 10 Olympic medals, including nine gold, and 10 World Championships medals, including eight gold. Last night, he was inducted into the Houston Sports Hall of Fame.

His athletic career spanned from 1979 to 1996 when he was the dominant sprinter and long jumper, topping the world rankings in the 100m, 200m, and long jump. Sports Illustrated aptly named him “The Olympian of the Century”.

Samir met track legend Carl Lewis at his Hall of Fame induction and had this to say about the track legend: “Growing up watching Carl Lewis win all the time inspired me to strive for greatness. In my opinion, besides being one of the most decorated athletes, he is also one of the fittest to ever live!”

The three-member 2020 Houston Sports Hall of Fame group joins previous classes that featured Earl Campbell, Hakeem Olajuwon and Nolan Ryan in 2018 and Jackie Burke Jr., A.J. Foyt, George Foreman and Dan Pastorini in 2019.
