Samir meets President Haris Silajdzic in Washington DC

On May 5th, 2018 HFR founder Samir Becic attended the ACBH Gala celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s statehood in Washington D.C. where he met with the former member of Bosnia’s Presidency Haris Silajdzic who was being honored with ACBH’s “Lifetime Achievement Award”. Other honorary guests and speakers at the prestigious gala included former US President Bill Clinton, retired US Army General Gordon Sullivan, former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Wesley Clark, philanthropist Sanela Diana Jenkins, and others.

ACBH is the first-ever Bosnian American organization to open an office in Washington, D.C. just a block from the White House, and has collectivized efforts representing Bosnian causes, including the U.S. recognition of the genocide in Srebrenica through the passing of two resolutions in U.S. Congress, founding of the first-ever Congressional Caucus on Bosnia in U.S. Congress, arranging and executing three successful Congressional trips to BiH, organizing over 60 events related to BiH in front of the Washington policymaking community, aiding in over $220,000 in humanitarian relief efforts in BiH, providing scholarship opportunities for Bosnian Americans to intern on Capitol Hill and countering genocide denial and revision of history through various educational programs.

At the Gala, Samir was able to present his new book “ReSYNC Your Life” to President Bill Clinton. Both were attending , where President Clinton was the keynote speaker of the evening and being honored for his contribution to peace in the region.

The former U.S. President also received the ACBH’s “Lifetime Achievement Award”. During the first term as the US President, Clinton deployed the US peacekeepers to Bosnia in late 1995, to uphold the subsequent Dayton Peace Agreement, which put an and to the Bosnian 1992-95 war.

In 2013, Health Fitness Revolution also named President Clinton among the Top Fittest Heads of State, a list which made world news.
