As an acclaimed health and fitness expert and entrepreneur, I have dedicated the past 30 years to promoting wellness through innovative programs, media appearances, and leadership roles within the industry. My pioneering ReSync Fitness Method and my role as the founder of Health Fitness Revolution Magazine, with over 6,000 articles republished in over 70 countries, have empowered tens of millions of individuals to embrace healthier lifestyles. Running the largest fitness club in America for Bally Total Fitness and caring for over 100,000 members helped me shape my impact on health and fitness in America.

Proclaimed as the “Fitness Czar” by the City of Houston in 2018, I have been recognized with prestigious awards such as the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023 and a Congressional proclamation from the historic 18th district. As the author of the HarperCollins bestseller “ReSYNC Your Life” and a four-time recipient of the #1 Fitness Trainer in America title from Bally Total Fitness (at the time the largest fitness organization in the world), my expertise has been showcased through numerous media features and initiatives. The City of Houston has proclaimed two “Samir Becic Days,” on November 1st and January 10th, to honor my 25 years of impact and 20 years of volunteer service as an advisor and Fitness Czar.

Committed to inspiring positive change, I have leveraged my life’s work to motivate others towards living healthier, fitter lives. I have also brought fitness to political avenues by motivating the government institutions of Congress and states, civilians by approaching 640 corporations and 500 school districts in the past year, and spiritual communities by creating a program in the largest church in America- Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church. Through the Samir Becic Foundation 501(c)(3), which has been active for over 12 years, I continue to advocate for health and fitness nationwide.

1980-1998: Martial Arts

I started practicing martial arts at the age of 4, beginning with karate, kung fu, and sanda, and later transitioning to boxing and kickboxing. I competed in many international tournaments.

2000-2009: Bally Total Fitness

I became one of the most awarded fitness trainers in the country, known industry-wide as am energetic motivator. I managed the largest club in America at the time, the West University location, which spanned 120,000 sq ft. I oversaw 300 employees and served over 100,000 members while managing the Sugar Land, Towers, Fondren, Sharpstown, and West U clubs simultaneously, achieving the status of #1 club in America for Bally’s. I was awarded “Fitness Director of the Year 2001”.

  • July 2000: Hired as a fitness trainer for Bally Total Fitness.
  • October 2000: became the #1 Fitness Trainer in Houston and was promoted to Head Trainer.
  • January 2001: became the #1 Fitness Trainer in Texas.
  • March 2001: became the #1 Fitness Trainer in America and was promoted to Fitness Director for the Sugarland location.
  • June 2001: Sugarland became the #1 club in America for Bally’s, and I was awarded the title of “Fitness Director of the Year 2001”.
  • As a Level 6 trainer, I educated over 900 trainers through rigorous seminars, utilizing my innovative techniques and motivational skills.
  • I was in charge of the Southwest regional weight loss contest for Bally Total Fitness, involving 250,000 members.

2002-present: Volunteering for the City of Houston

  • 22 years of volunteering with the City of Houston in various official capacities- Fitness Director, Mayoral Health and Fitness Advisor, and official Fitness Czar for the City of Houston 
  • Advised several mayors in health and fitness, starting with Mayor Brown in 2002, all the way to Mayor Turner in 2024, and continuing with Mayor Whitmire currently.
  • In 2002, under the “Fitness Task Force” program with Mayor Lee P. Brown, I promoted physical fitness and healthy living to residents. The program aimed to increase physical activity in Houston, which had been proclaimed the “Fattest City in America.” I created programs to get Houstonians moving and active, and alongside Mayor Lee Brown, promised change in Houston in front of dozens of journalists.
  • Educating 20,000 city employees on health and fitness.
  • Motivating Houstonians in the greater Houston area (7 million) through various channels available including media, corporate seminars, non-profit events, educational seminars, book signings, fitness classes, fitness fairs, etc.

2002-present: Media Expert

  • Fox Houston Television Network: As a health expert, I regularly appeared on Fox 26 with two segments per week sharing “Healthy Tips for Houston,” reaching hundreds of thousands of viewers.
  • WB39 (now My CW): Featured fitness expert with two segments a month, reaching 250,000 viewers, reviewing fitness tech and new products in the fitness, nutrition, training, and recovery realms.
  • Health & Fitness Sports Magazine: Health and fitness expert for Houston’s largest health and fitness magazine.

2005: Head Fitness Expert for “Houston’s Biggest Loser”

  • Helping people achieve their fitness goals and feel better about themselves, so they can enjoy life more fully, has always been one of my missions. In 2005, I was featured as the head fitness expert of “Houston’s Biggest Loser” challenge. I led a team of 25 trainers, each working with two participants daily for 12 weeks. During this time, I also appeared weekly on the Roula and Ryan Show on 96.5 FM, teaming up with the hosts to motivate 1.2 million greater Houstonians around the challenge. I also assisted Roula with her own weight loss and fitness goals as she participated in the challenge.

2004-present: Corporate Events

  • In 2004, I hosted over 100 corporate events and seminars within a two-year span, providing tailored seminars to companies aiming to enhance employee productivity, creativity, physical health, motivation, and mental wellness, while also reducing medical insurance costs associated with unhealthy, sluggish, and overweight employees. My unique system includes separate seminars for upper management, middle management, and employees to ensure a comprehensive approach to creating real change within the corporate structure.
  • In addition to hosting events, I regularly provide fitness consulting services to corporations, conducting several corporate events annually to address their specific needs and goals. My consulting services are designed to foster a healthier, more motivated workforce, ultimately contributing to a more dynamic and successful organization.

2005-2008: Judge for Chuck Norris’ non-profit Kickstart Kids Program

  • From 2005 to 2008, I served as a judge for Chuck Norris’ non-profit Kickstart Kids Program. Founded in 1992 by Mr. Chuck Norris, this program uses martial arts training as a vehicle to instill values and skills necessary to combat the peer pressures associated with at-risk behaviors in youth. The core philosophy of martial arts emphasizes the vital importance of a healthy mind and body, essential for leading a productive life.

2009-present: Founded ReSync Enterprises 

  • In 2009, I founded ReSync Enterprises, a company that provides health and fitness education through events and seminars for corporations, the media, and community-based organizations using my celebrated ReSync Method.

2011-present: Founded the Samir Becic Foundation 501(c)3

  • Building on my extensive knowledge of health and fitness, I founded Health Fitness Revolution in 2011. 
  • Health Fitness Revolution, a non-profit movement led by the Samir Becic Foundation 501(c)(3), aims to spread the message of health and fitness worldwide to prevent disease and improve quality of life.
  • Team has volunteered over 65,000 hours. I have volunteered over 8,000 hours individually.
  • Reached out to over 300,000 people in Houston, 2 million in Texas, and over 10 million in the United States through Health Fitness Revolution Magazine’s 6000 articles.

2011- present: Campaign to promote healthy lifestyle in spiritual institutions across the United States

  • Launched a health and fitness program for Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church, the largest church in the United States.
  • Gave over 100 seminars to churches and other religious institutions to motivate religious leaders and their congregations to embrace healthy living by incorporating physical fitness and balanced nutrition into daily activities.
  • Conducted three weekly classes over the years.
  • Organized 2 major annual fitness and nutrition challenges with thousands of participants.
  • Regularly featured in articles on the Christian Post and other spiritual media.
  • Started ranking churches and spiritual institutions in 2015 in terms of their health and fitness facilities and fitness programs. Health Fitness Revolution published the rankings of the fittest churches and pastors in America. The initiative included outreach to spiritual leaders—pastors, rabbis, and imams—nationwide for interviews and evaluated fitness programs available at megachurches.
    • Researched over 1,000 churches and spiritual institutions across the U.S. based on their health, fitness facilities, and programs offered to members
    • Compiled extensive data on each institution’s wellness offerings such as exercise classes, gyms, spas, yoga studios, swimming pools, etc.
    • Narrowed initial list of 500+ institutions down through rigorous analysis to curate top 50, 20, and 10 rankings based on quality and comprehensiveness of wellness programming
    • Pioneered research and rankings in evaluating spiritually-based organizations’ approaches to member health, recreation and member wellbeing
    • Analyzed various data sources to evaluate each institution’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and overall wellness among congregations and communities

2012-2016: Partnership with 89.3 FM KSBJ radio

  • Partnered with Joey K. and Coppelia on their Healthy Houston segments, reaching 800,000 listeners.
  • Educated listeners on healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, proper nutrition, and spiritual balance.

2013-2014: Health and fitness Educator in Mexico City

  • Managed a team of 30 teachers, coaches, and professors in the fields of sports, fitness, health, and nutrition across three private schools and one university in Mexico City.
  • Oversaw operations and educational initiatives aimed at promoting health and fitness within the educational institutions.

2013-present: Founded Health Fitness Revolution Magazine

  • Founded Health Fitness Revolution Magazine in 2013 and have since overseen its remarkable international success.
  • Established Health Fitness Revolution Magazine as a trusted source of information on healthy living, recognized by major media outlets including the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Focus Magazine, and Huffington Post.
  • Pioneered the integration of fitness and health into various spheres including politics, religion, and education, setting a new standard in health journalism.
  • Introduced the first-ever list showcasing the fittest world leaders and heads of state in 2013, a tradition that continues annually and garners significant international media attention.
  • Achieved a readership of over 16 million, with publications reaching over 70 countries and translated into more than 50 languages.
  • Garnered republishing by over 10,000 media outlets worldwide, extending the magazine’s reach to hundreds of millions globally.

2014: Work with Homeless Organizations

  • In 2014, I dedicated my time to collaborating with multiple homeless organizations in Houston, where I implemented health and fitness programs tailored to their needs.
  • Spearheaded the creation of the campaign “Walking out of Homelessness,” aimed at empowering individuals experiencing homelessness through physical activity and wellness initiatives.

2014-present: Outreach Campaigns to Media

  • Together with my team at Health Fitness Revolution, I actively engaged in outreach campaigns targeting media figures across Texas, encompassing television, radio, and print platforms, to inspire them to advocate for healthy living statewide.
  • Sent interview requests to over 300 media personalities. 
  • I identified and interviewed the top 10 fittest individuals in each major city, facilitating the sharing of their healthy routines with their audience.
  • Following careful selection from the pool of 50 personalities in each city, I designated the Top 10 Fittest in Texas as official health and fitness ambassadors for the state, amplifying their influence in promoting wellness initiatives.
  • Reached millions of Texans both directly and indirectly through the vast social media reach of the media figures.

2014-present: Celebrity campaign to motivate millions to live healthier lifestyles

  • Published top 10 fittest celebrity lists for over 10 years through Health Fitness Revolution website and social media. Curated extensive research on workout regimens, diet plans and health routines of top celebrities in various entertainment industries.
  • Initial research cast a wide net of over 1,000 celebrities identified online before intensively narrowing to curated lists of top 10.
  • Ranks incorporate extensive data gathered from interviews, online sources, industry publications, and subject matter expertise. Pioneered exhaustive research methodology to evaluate and rank fitness of extensive and diverse pool of global celebrities.
  • Lists feature celebrities from various genres and regions including the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia, UK, and India (Bollywood). 
  • Categories included male and female lists of: Hollywood legends (30+, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+, 80+ years of age), rising stars, singers, rappers, rock stars, comedians, talk show hosts, chefs, LGBTQ+ icons and international celebrities, among others.
  • The lists reach millions of readers worldwide and aim to inspire healthy lifestyle emulation of favorite celebrities.
  • Pioneered the concept of using celebrity fitness rankings as motivation for audiences to pursue their own wellness goals.
  • Rankings encourage fans and general public to engage in fitness through role models in pop culture.

2015: Political lists go viral globally

  • In 2015, my list titled “Top 13 Fittest Heads of State 2015” gained global traction, going viral and being republished in over 20 languages and featured across major media outlets such as ABC, El Mundo, Hola, Focus, Hurriyet, and more.
  • The following year, my ranking of the fitness of the “2016 Presidential Candidate Hopefuls” also went viral in the U.S., garnering republishing in numerous prominent news outlets including the Miami Herald, the Boston Globe, and the Star Tribune.
  • Throughout this period, my political ranking lists received widespread national and international attention, with mentions in publications such as Politico, Huffington Post, L’Essentiel, etc.

2015-present: Campaign to promote health and fitness in Corporate America

  • Ranked top 10 fittest Fortune 500 companies in America based on wellness packages offered to employees.
  • Profiled the fortune 100 companies and their fitness and wellness programs.
  • In 2021, launched a nationwide campaign to promote health and fitness among U.S. corporations as part of my broader mission to integrate fitness and wellness into the corporate culture, emphasizing the benefits of a healthy workforce for both employees and employers.
  • Reached out to the 100 largest corporations in Texas with letters and copies of my book.
  • Wrote letters to the CEOs of the 500 largest companies in the U.S., encouraging a greater emphasis on wellness in the workplace through wellness programs. 

2016-2018: Extreme Fitness Experiments

  • In October 2016, I initiated an extreme fitness experiment aimed at raising awareness about obesity. Beginning with a 50lb weighted vest worn all day for a week, I progressively increased the weight to 80lbs, 120lbs, 150lbs, and ultimately reached 200lbs.
  • In 2017, I extended the experiment to six weeks, wearing a 200lb weighted vest to simulate the daily experiences of an obese individual, culminating in a challenging 3-mile walk around Memorial Park.
  • Continuing my commitment to obesity awareness from 2018 onward, I undertook a groundbreaking challenge: running 7 marathons in 8 weeks while wearing a weighted vest equivalent to an additional 73.5 lbs. This unprecedented fitness endeavor set a new standard for raising awareness about obesity on a global scale.

2017: ReSync Your Life Book Published

  • In 2017, I published my book “ReSYNC Your Life” on October 31st through one of the largest publishers globally, HarperCollins Publishers. The book quickly climbed to the #1 spot on the Amazon Kindle bestsellers list in the Health & Fitness, Healthy Living, and Wellness categories.
  • Following the success of “ReSYNC Your Life,” I have been diligently working on its highly anticipated sequel. 

2018: Named “Fitness Czar” for the City of Houston

  • On November 1st, 2018, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner appointed me as the “Fitness Czar” of Houston, the 4th largest city in America. I am currently spearheading several large-scale health and fitness initiatives.
    • I regularly participate in fitness events throughout the city.
    • I hold seminars to motivate and educate the 20,000 city employees to live healthier. 
    • I visited the Houston Police Academy to discuss cadet training.

2019: Unicef Partnership

  • initiated a partnership with UNICEF Houston and the UNICEF Kid Power program, providing a unique source of empowerment for students. Through this initiative, students learn that their daily activities, such as movement and learning, can have a tangible impact on the world.
  • The program has evolved into one of the largest education-technology initiatives, reaching underserved students across the U.S. It was recognized as one of TIME magazine’s 25 Best Inventions of 2016.
  • I had the privilege of meeting with UNICEF USA’s CEO at the time, Caryl M. Stern, to discuss and further develop our collaborative efforts.

2020: Recognized in Houstonia Magazine’s 2020 piece “Houston: The American Dream”

  • I was honored to be recognized in Houstonia Magazine’s 2020 piece titled “Houston: The American Dream” as one of 40 immigrants who not only made their way to Houston but thrived, becoming integral to the city’s essence.
  • I was selected as one of the top 6 “American Dream” immigrants and invited to collaborate in a charity panel hosted by Interfaith Ministries and Houstonia Magazine. The virtual panel was convened to acknowledge our significant contributions to the community and featured esteemed guests including Harris County Judge Lina Hildalgo and other distinguished individuals.

2021-present: Nationwide Campaign to promote health and fitness among U.S. politicians

  • In 2021, I launched a nationwide campaign aimed at promoting health and fitness among U.S. politicians, schools, and corporations. As part of this initiative, I personally sent personalized, signed copies of my HarperCollins-published book, “ReSync Your Life,” to U.S. political leaders, urging them to continue motivating Americans to live healthier lives. Specifically, I sent books to the 36 U.S. Congressmembers representing Texas, as well as to politicians recognized in Health Fitness Revolution’s various lists, including the:
    • “Top 20 Fittest Politicians” 
    • “Top 40 US Representatives in America”
    • “Top 20 Fittest Senators” 
    • “Top 20 Fittest Mayors” 
    • “Top 10 Fittest Governors”
  • In Texas, I sent books to the 36 U.S. Congressmembers representing the state, as well as to mayors and commissioners of major cities including Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Lubbock, and El Paso. 
  • I sent letters to the mayors of the 200 largest cities in Texas
  • On a national scale, I’ve dedicated significant effort to writing compelling and motivating letters to over 1000 politicians nationwide, including all 50 governors and mayors of the 100 largest cities, among others, in a concerted effort to initiate tangible change. 
  • Furthermore, I’ve contacted 500 of the nation’s largest corporations to encourage greater emphasis on wellness in the workplace.

2021-present: Campaign to promote health and fitness to schools across America

  • Launched a comprehensive fitness promotion campaign targeting school system leaders, beginning with the Greater Houston area. I distributed fitness tips and personalized copies of “ReSYNC Your Life” to all superintendents in the region.
  • Extended outreach to all public schools within the City of Houston, Harris County, and the greater Houston area.
  • Contacted the 120 largest school districts in Texas and 80 of the largest private schools in the state.
  • Reached out to the 100 largest school districts nationwide, culminating in a proactive engagement with 500 school districts across the country.
  • Delivered numerous health and fitness seminars at various schools.
  • This ongoing campaign is set to experience major growth, with its reach expected to triple and quadruple in the foreseeable future.

2022-2023: Recipient of two “Samir Becic Day”s

  • In 2022 and 2023, I had the honor of being recognized with two “Samir Becic Day” proclamations.
  • On November 1st, 2022, Mayor Sylvester Turner declared “Samir Becic Day” in appreciation of my service as the official “Fitness Czar” to the City of Houston and for my two decades of dedication as a health advisor to previous mayors.
  • Additionally, on January 10th, 2023, I received a second “Samir Becic Day” in acknowledgment of my exceptional advocacy for wellness in America and worldwide. This recognition highlighted my unwavering commitment to promoting fitness, beginning in 2012 with the founding of the Samir Becic Foundation 501(c)3 and the creation of Health Fitness Revolution magazine, which has reached over 70 countries and been translated into more than 50 languages.
  • The proclamation of January 10th, 2023, as “Samir Becic Day” by Mayor Sylvester Turner and the 16 City of Houston Council Members was a significant moment, marked by a ceremony held at City Hall.

2023: President’s Lifetime Achievement Award 

  • In May 2023, I was deeply honored to receive the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden. This prestigious award, the highest honor bestowed, is reserved for individuals who have dedicated their lives to societal improvement.
  • With over 10,000 hours of volunteer service, my decades-long commitment to advocacy and outreach exemplifies a lifetime of impactful service. I am proud to have contributed to making communities stronger through the transformative power of health and fitness.

2023: United States Congressional Proclamation

  • On December 5th, 2023, I was honored to receive a proclamation from the United States Congress. This esteemed recognition was bestowed upon me in acknowledgment of my prolific advocacy of physical fitness as a means to enhance America’s health.
  • Through my Health Fitness Revolution magazine, I have had a nationwide impact, inspiring over 16 million individuals to prioritize their health and well-being. My decade-long dedication to motivating the United States Congress has made a significant difference in many lives, earning me this prestigious acknowledgment from the Historic 18th District.

2024: Houston Mayor’s Volunteer Award

  • I was honored to receive the Houston Mayor’s Volunteer Award from Mayor John Whitmire in 2024, being the sole recipient in Houston of the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • This prestigious recognition underscores my unwavering commitment to serving the community, symbolizing a lifetime of exceptional civic contribution and volunteerism. With over 8,000 hours dedicated to service, my decades of advocacy and outreach reflect a profound commitment to making communities stronger through the transformative power of health and fitness.
