Samir Becic Completes First 10 Workouts of Extreme Fitness Challenge 2022 Part 2

Our founder Samir Becic likes a good Fitness Challenge in celebration of a milestone: for his 46th birthday this year, he hiked 10 miles for every year he’s been alive with a 55lbs+ backpack, for a total of 464 miles in Aspen, Colorado. Now, he’s embarking on another extreme fitness challenge in celebration of his 4 years as official “Fitness Czar” for the City of Houston on November 1st, 2022.

It’s no secret that Samir has used his drive, passion, and vision to try and make Houston a healthier and more active place. Once named 4 x #1 Fitness Trainer in the world and author of the book “ReSync Your Life“, he’s been motivating Houstonians to get active for the past 20 years, when he was first named Fitness Director for the City of Houston under Mayor Lee Brown in 2002.

Now he’s in full swing of the second stage of this 2022 extreme fitness challenge: to walk a full 3 miles while wearing a 200 lbs weighted vest! To date, he’s completed the first 10 training days, which all consisted of walking 3 miles while wearing a 75 lbs weighted vest; next, he will go up to 100 lbs, 125 lbs, 150 lbs, 175 lbs, and finally 200 lbs. Here is how days 1-10 went:

Day 10: July 21st, 2022. 3 miles at Memorial Park with a 75 lbs weighted vest in 46 minutes 14 seconds.
Day 9: July 20th, 2022. 3 miles at Memorial Park with a 75 lbs weighted vest
Day 8: July 19th, 2022. 3 miles at Memorial Park with a 75 lbs weighted vest in 47 minutes 31 seconds.
Day 7: July 18th, 2022. 3 miles at Memorial Park with a 75 lbs weighted vest.
Day 6 of training: July 15th, 2022. 75 lbs weighted vest, 3 miles in 48 minutes and 06 seconds.
Day 5 of training: July 14th, 2022. 75 lbs weighted vest, 3 miles in 50 minutes and 38 seconds.
Day 4 of training: July 13th, 2022. 75 lbs weighted vest, 3 miles in 50 minutes.
Day 3 of training: July 12th, 2022. 75 lbs weighted vest, 3 miles.
Day 2 of training: July 8th, 2022. 75 lbs weighted vest, 3 miles in 51 minutes.
Day 1 of training: July 7th, 2022. 75 lbs weighted vest, 3 miles in 58 minutes.
